An Introduction to Universal Design for Learning
In this course, we will introduce participants to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. By the end of the course, teachers will be able to explain how UDL is a key component of strong Tier 1 instruction and identify ways to implement multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression into lesson plans. This is designed for teachers who are new or beginning the implementation of UDL in their classrooms.

The Joy and Freedom of Flexible Assessment
In this course, participants will develop a firm understanding of how standards, curriculum, and assessment align to ensure students are learning skills and content AND showing teachers in multiple ways how they have learned skills and content. Just as there are many methods of instruction, there are also many methods of assessment. Providing students a variety of ways in which to show what they have learned provides all learners with the opportunity to use their strengths to show learning. Developing and grading assessments that truly focus on the standards being taught provides teachers with the freedom and flexibility to assess learning in many ways. This course allows teachers time to reflect on common assessment practices and consider all the ways we COULD be gauging student growth and learning.
